Application and study of peel strength of EAA dispersion on flexible packaging

Posted on 2021-07-18
Plastic, paper flexible packaging applications continue to expand, the consumer market demand for flexible packaging materials are increasingly diversified. In order to meet the different needs of various fields such as food, medicine, agriculture and household products, two or more layers of materials such as polypropylene, polyethylene, nylon, aluminum foil and paper are now usually used for lamination, so as to meet the packaging performance requirements of different customers. The low-temperature heat seal OE-7013 developed by Tianshi New Material shows excellent water resistance, adhesion, flexibility and optical purity in film formation, thermoplasticity and very high adhesion, as well as excellent resistance to water and chemicals and barrier properties, which can be used in plastic and paper flexible packaging, coatings, adhesives, base layer primer treatment, waterproofing and impermeability of paper, etc. As a low-temperature heat seal coating, the biggest advantage of EAA emulsion is that the coating is very thin, and under suitable substrate and heat seal conditions, a dry film of 0.5um can produce good adhesion. Coating peel strength test report: Experimental sample EAA dispersion OE-7013, solid content 30-32% , pH 7-9 , viscosity 1000-1500 mpa-s aluminum foil paper test sample production 1, Cut the right size of aluminum foil. 2, Apply 1 mL of emulsion onto the aluminum foil with a dropper, set the speed of the film applicator to 30, start the film applicator, and apply the film with a wire rod. 3, Put the coated aluminum foil paper into the oven at 50℃, dry completely and take out for use. 4, Laminate the coated side of the aluminum foil paper and heat seal it with a heat sealer. 5, Cut into a test strip of 15mm width with a gate knife. Test results 1, Peel force for different thicknesses. Pressure 150kPa , temperature 80 ℃ , time 0.7s. 2, Peel force for different heat sealing times. Pressure 150kPa , temperature 80 ℃ , thickness 1.5μm. 3, Peel force at different heat sealing temperatures Pressure 150kPa , thickness 1.5μm , time 1.3s. 4, Peel force at different heat sealing pressures. Temperature 80℃ , thickness 1.5μm , time 1.3s. Conclusions 1, The peel force becomes larger with increasing coating thickness and eventually tends to be smooth. 2, The peel force does not vary significantly with the heat sealing time. 3, The peel force increases with the increase of heat sealing temperature. 4, The peel force increases when the pressure increases from 150 to 200 kPa, and does not change significantly after 200 kPa.
