The role of polyethylene wax emulsion for rubber gloves

Posted on 2021-08-11
There are many types of disposable gloves, and the main materials include nitrile rubber, natural rubber, and polyvinyl chloride. And wax emulsions improve the field operability and service life of natural and synthetic rubber gloves. These advantages often play a vital role in product quality control, operator safety, site sanitation, and chemical protection. 1, Natural Rubber Gloves - NR. By tapping the latex extracted from natural trees and then concentrated by centrifugation, most of the water-based components are removed. 2, Nitrile rubber gloves - NBR. Nitrile is a soft and easy to stretch material, compared to latex or vinyl gloves, it has better puncture resistance and abrasion resistance. It is mainly made of acrylonitrile butadiene polymerization, has a better barrier, durability and excellent strength. 3, Polyvinyl chloride gloves - PVC. PVC is a more economical synthetic thermoplastic polymer, very solid and durable. PVC gloves provide excellent protection, including certain chemical exposure as well as physical hazard protection. Application advantages of wax emulsions 1, Chemically inert: Does not react with latex. 2, Suitable for aqueous systems. 3, Increases release (easy to peel). 4, Reduces coefficient of friction, improves ease of wear and enhances abrasion resistance in polymer coatings. 5, Reduces total migration by forming a barrier layer. 6, Ozone aging protection. 7, Provides anti-adhesive properties for gloves in packages. Waxes are a large group of organic compounds that are hydrophobic, ductile solids at room temperature and low-viscosity liquids above the melting point, including high molecular weight alkanes and lipid compounds that are typically insoluble in water. As a result, high density polyethylene wax emulsion have a significant impact on many formulations and processes. Even when used in small amounts, waxes can serve a variety of purposes and improve a number of surface properties, including slip and lubricity, abrasion resistance, adhesion resistance, mold release, ease of donning and doffing, and water and ozone resistance - properties that are critical to the production of latex gloves.
