Ethylene acrylic acid copolymer (EAA) is produced by the reaction of ethylene and acrylic acid. The presence of acrylic acid brings polarity, adhesion, toughness, hot tack strength and low-temperature heat sealing.
Acrylic acid copolymers are widely used in flexible packaging, such as laminated tubes, condiment bags and pouches, aseptic packaging, meat and cheese packaging, as well as metal protective coatings, wires and cables, and powder coatings. Acrylic acid copolymers can also be used in water dispersions, glass adhesives, and ink and paint formulations.
Features and Applications of Water-Based EAA Emulsions:
1. Adhesion to polar substrates, including metallized films, paper, iron, steel, and glass, etc.
2. Balance of substrate adhesion and interlayer adhesion with co-extruded LDPE and EVA.
3. High anti-adhesion when used to package acidic foods.
4. Extremely low temperature sealing with high seal strength, high hot tack and good seal penetration pollution.
Introduction to EAA dispersions/emulsions:
1. Excellent tear and abrasion resistance.
2. Excellent heat sealing performance.
3. Adhesion to a variety of substrates, including metal foil, paper and packaging substrates.
The water-based EAA emulsion produced by Tianshi New Materials is food contact grade. The heat seal adhesive prepared has good bonding strength and is suitable for PP, paper, tinplate, and aluminum foil. The use process is simple. As long as the temperature is above 120°C and a certain pressure is applied, it can basically achieve a relatively ideal bonding strength.
