From a formulation perspective, wax additives can be used in both conventional and polymer-modified asphalt systems. They are often applied in combination with SBS or other polymers to fine-tune the balance between elasticity and stiffness. Proper dosage and wax type selection are critical, as excessive wax content may negatively affect low-temperature cracking resistance.
