Except for polymerizable surfactants, emulsifier molecules are not adsorbed on the polymer through chemical bonds, but physically adsorbed on the interface between the emulsion and water, water and air. Because of this, the emulsifier can affect the next step of the polymer processing, for example, it can be used as a lubricant or antistatic agent in the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) processing industry, or emulco wax emulsion it can be washed away by rain in the exterior wall decoration paint.
