3 types of silica matting agents

2021-09-18   Pageview:716

There are three types of silica matting agents, all of which are X-ray amorphous porous substances. One of them is micron-level precipitated hydrated silica, the original level particles are chain-like accumulation. It is one of the most used at home and abroad.

Another is micron grade silica aerogel, its original grade particles form three-dimensional space mesh structure, pore capacity is generally greater than 1.5mL/g. Due to the use of micron and sub-micron grade grading device, the particle size distribution is narrow, extinction and transparency is comparable to similar foreign species. With the wax treatment process, no hard precipitation will be produced after a long time.

Commonly used emulsifiers The following outline lists some commonly used emulsifiers for industrial emulsion synthesis.

Anionic emulsifier 1. Alkyl sulfate
Alkyl sodium sulfate is the most widely researched and used surfactant in emulsion polymerization, mainly because of the relatively high purity of this type of product and the high flexibility in carbon chain distribution. They are widely used in various fields, such as ultra-fine particle size latex acrylic emulsion, high foaming carpet back glue. The CMC of these products depends on the hydrophobic part of their molecular structure. The more carbon chains, the lower the CMC.

Sulfonated natural oils, sulfonated oleates and alpha ester sulfonates have all been used in emulsion polymerization, and there are successful precedents for obtaining special product properties as special emulsifiers [21]. Fatty alcohol sulfates are in the initial stage of emulsion polymerization. It is used as an emulsifier, and is famous for its apparently good emulsifying properties and the preparation of ultrafine particle size emulsions. Partially unsaturated octadecyl/hexadecyl sulfate can be used as an emulsifier for the production of low foam polymer emulsions.

From the point of view of industrial production, alkyl sulfates have their shortcomings, that is, wax additive number theory their solutions are difficult to keep liquid at low temperatures, and they will be hydrolyzed under acidic conditions. Sometimes their ammonium or ethanolamine salts are used, and their high-concentration solutions are used.

Alkyl Aryl Sulfonate
These are economical chemical products, so they are widely used in emulsion polymerization. However, the use of a wide range of alkyl raw materials in production results in different product properties.
Alkylbenzene sulfonates are the most important class of surfactants and detergents. Linear dodecyl benzene sulfonate, such as Marani 1A series, is used as an anionic emulsifier in the production of emulsion polyvinyl chloride (E-PVC) and other polymer emulsions, while branched tetrapropyl benzene sulfonate TPS (TPS) is limited to a small amount of use. One of the reasons is the poor biodegradability of the chemical structure, which caused many environmental problems in the 1860s.
