PTFE micronized wax is a specialized additive in the powder metallurgy industry, where clean die release and precise part shaping are essential. When added to metal powder mixtures, PTFE wax acts as an internal lubricant, reducing friction between particles and metal molds.
This results in smoother ejection of parts, reduced tool wear, and improved density uniformity in green compacts. Additionally, it helps lower compaction pressure, making the process more energy efficient. In post-sintering, the low-residue characteristics of PTFE wax minimize contamination or carbon residues.
PTFE waxes can be used in ferrous and non-ferrous metal powders, as well as in metal injection molding (MIM) systems.
Main Benefits:
Excellent mold release and reduced ejection force
Improved particle flow and compaction density
Lower tool wear and cleaner die cavities
Minimal sintering residue
