Proper lubrication facilitates uniform distribution of these components, leading to more stable mechanical and electrical performance.

Thermal stability is particularly important in cable applications. Overheating during extrusion can degrade PVC, affecting color and electrical insulation properties. By lowering processing torque and improving melt flow, PE wax contributes indirectly to better thermal control within the extrusion system.

However, dosage optimization is critical. Insufficient PE wax may not provide adequate lubrication, while excessive addition can reduce mechanical strength or impact resistance. In cable insulation and sheath formulations, maintaining tensile strength and elongation is essential. Therefore, laboratory rheology testing and extrusion trials are recommended to determine optimal loading levels.

Consistency of wax quality is also important for cable compound manufacturers. Variations in molecular weight or melting point can influence processing performance from batch to batch. Reliable supply and strict quality control help ensure stable long-term production.
