Oxide type antimicrobial agent is the use of N-type semiconductor materials, such as: TiO2, ZnO, Fe2O3, WO3, CdS, etc. under photocatalysis, the adsorption of OH- and H2O molecules on the surface oxidation into OH- radicals with strong oxidation capacity, the inhibition and killing effect on microorganisms in the environment.

In the solution treatment of silane coupling agent-organic solvent, the silane coupling agent is first prepared into a 25% (mass fraction) alcohol solution for later use. The filler is placed in a high-speed mixer, and the standby silane coupling agent solution in a fine mist is pumped under stirring. The amount of silane coupling agent is about 0.2%~1.5% of the filler mass, and the treatment can be finished after 20 minutes, and then it is dried by dynamic drying method. In addition to alcohol as a solvent, ketones, esters and hydrocarbons can also be used as solvents to prepare a solution (mass fraction) of 1% to 5%. In order to hydrolyze or partially hydrolyze the silane coupling agent, it is sometimes necessary to add a small amount of water to the solvent, and even a small amount of HOA e can be added as a hydrolysis catalyst.

Another treatment method is to add the material to be processed into the solution under stirring, montan wax quartz then filter, dry and solidify at 80~120℃ for several minutes to obtain the product.
If it is necessary to treat the surface of metal, glass and ceramics: 0.5%~2.0% (mass fraction) of silane coupling agent alcohol (MeOH, EtOH or i PrOH) solution should be used, which can be treated by dipping, spraying and brushing. According to the shape and performance of the substrate, it can be dried and cured immediately, or it can be kept at 80~180℃ for 1~5min to achieve drying and curing.
(4) Hydrolysate treatment using silane coupling agent to control hydrolysis of the silane coupling agent into hydrolysate can be used as a surface treatment agent. This method can sometimes obtain better treatment effects than silane coupling agent solutions that have not been hydrolyzed in advance.

Integral blending method directly added to resin
The overall blending method is to mix the silane coupling agent stock solution into the resin or polymer before the filler is added. It should be noted that the method requires that the resin or polymer used does not react with the silane coupling agent prematurely, otherwise the effect will be reduced . The selected silane coupling agent must also be able to migrate to the surface of the filler before curing, and then complete the hydrolysis and polycondensation reaction. Metal carboxylate is usually added as a catalyst to accelerate the hydrolysis and condensation reaction. This method is not suitable for fillers that are surface treated with silane coupling agents.
