Uses: Polyethylene wax is divided into powder, small white microbeads and flakes. It is formed by polyethylene cracking or ethylene monomer polymerization. It has the characteristics of high melting point, high hardness, high gloss, and white color.
1. It is used as an internal dispersant in the processing of color masterbatches, and is widely used in polyethylene hydrocarbon masterbatches.
2. It can be used as pigment dispersant, lubricant and brightener during the molding process of PVC profiles, pipes, pipe fittings, PE.PP, to enhance the degree of plasticization and improve the toughness and surface smoothness of plastic products.
3. As a dispersant and brightener for inks, paints, especially road marking paints, marking paints, it has a good anti-settling effect, so that the products have good gloss and three-dimensional effect.
4. It is used in the production of various hot melt adhesives, thermosetting powder coatings, and PVC composite stabilizers.
5. It is widely used in the production of floor wax, automobile wax, glazing wax, and candles in line with the production of various wax products, improving the softening point of wax products, increasing their strength and surface gloss.
6. In the rubber industry, improve the surface brightness and smoothness of the product after stripping, reduce the amount of paraffin, and reduce production costs
When polyethylene wax is used in water-based inks and coatings, oxidized polyethylene wax is usually used, and an emulsifier is added to make an emulsion or dispersed in acrylic resin. Oxidized polyethylene wax increases its hydrophilicity to some extent. The basic vinyl wax water-based dispersion is to treat polyethylene wax micropowder with super dispersing FA, and disperse it in ammonia-containing deionized water through homogenization to form a thick slurry. After the ammonia volatilizes with the water, the polyethylene wax particles lose their hydrophilicity, float on the coating, and play the role of their wax. The dispersion is very easy to disperse in water-based inks, colorants and coatings, and can be added at any stage, ground together with the coating components, or added directly at a later stage. Dosage according to proven formula.
The role of polyethylene wax aqueous dispersion in inks and coatings is as follows:
Adhesion is the adhesion and adhesion between the surface of the paint film and external substances, the mutual contact between the paint films and adhesion, and the adhesion of ash, contamination and pressure when exposed to the atmosphere. Both latex paint and volatile paint have pressure viscosity and thermal viscosity, as well as re-viscosity caused by aging and degradation caused by heat, light, chemical and biochemistry, such as oxidation and decomposition of oily base materials, bacterial decomposition of cellulose materials, etc. The acceleration of printing speed increases the requirements for anti-blocking of the coating film. Wax additives are the best choice for anti-blocking. In the coating film, the wax additives gradually migrate from the state of uniform dispersion in the film to the surface of the film. Due to this migration, the surface of the film can be made anti-blocking, while simultaneously producing anti-wear, anti-scratch and other simultaneous effects. How the wax migrates to the surface in the coating film is related to the interaction between the wax and the coating, the dry form, the thickness of the film, the strength of the wax, the dispersion state and the density of the wax. Ion substitution makes the wax particles lose their hydrophilicity. Hydrophobic wax particles are easily precipitated from the paint film. The wax is precipitated from the paint film, which changes the surface composition of the paint film. The surface tension of the paint film is reduced from 40-50mN/m of general resin to about 30mN/m. With wax containing PTFE, the surface tension can be reduced to about 18.5mN/m, which has obvious anti-blocking and anti-staining effects. One factor to improve the anti-friction and anti-scratch is to reduce the friction coefficient of the coating surface, so that when the object touches the coating surface, the sliding tendency is greater than the scratching tendency.
The migration of the wax micropowder to the surface of the coating film can greatly reduce the dynamic friction coefficient of the coating film surface, and only a small amount is required to achieve scratch resistance. The addition of wax micropowder to the coating can greatly reduce the tendency of the coating film to be polished by friction, while maintaining the durability of low gloss. The molecular chain of oxidized polyethylene wax has a certain amount of hydroxyl groups, and their compatibility with polar resins is significantly improved, which is better than that of polyethylene wax. It has good compatibility with rubber, plastic, paraffin and other materials. The internal and external lubrication of PVC is relatively balanced; the lubricity of oxidized polyethylene wax is better than that of other lubricants when added to the rigid transparent PVC formula. The acid value greater than 13 can be used as emulsification type.
Scope of use
It is used as an internal dispersant in the processing of color masterbatches. It can improve the softening point of wax products, increase the strength of wax products, and make the surface glossy. When the candle is lit, it burns safely, bright and without black smoke. It is used as an internal lubricant during the processing of PVC profiles, pipes and plastics, which can improve the toughness of plastic products, make the surface of the products smooth, and have a high pass rate. In the production process of PVC film, it can improve the gloss and transparency of the film, and can improve the longitudinal and transverse toughness of the film. It can be used as a dispersant for ink and paint, and has good anti-settling effect, so that the printed matter has good gloss and three-dimensional effect.
