PE wax for hot melt road marking paint, mainly consider the purity of PE wax, whether it contains paraffin, whether there is mixed calcium powder inside, etc. PE wax softening point is low, easy to cause the hot melt marking soft, slow drying in summer, shedding, cracking, not stain-resistant. Recommend the use of pure PE wax with a softening point of more than 100 degrees.
Characteristics of PE waxes for hot melt road marking paint:
1, High softening point, can improve the heat resistance of the coating; low viscosity, can be adjusted to improve the leveling properties.
2, Abrasion resistance, anti-scratch, anti-scuff: wax is distributed in the coating film to protect the coating film, prevent scratches, scuffs and provide abrasion resistance.
3, Controlled coefficient of friction: It is usually used for its low coefficient of friction to provide excellent slip of the coating film and a special silky soft touch due to the different types of waxes.
4, Chemical resistance: Due to the stability of the wax, it can give the coating film better resistance to water and salt spray etc.
5, Preventing lamination: avoiding back-stick and lamination of the coating or the printed material.
6, Control gloss: Choose the appropriate type, depending on the amount of addition and have different matting and increase gloss effect, good three-dimensional sense.
7, Prevent the deposition of silica and other auxiliary materials, increase the storage stability of paint.
Hot melt road marking paint with polyethylene wax should be dry, no lumps, no impurities, transparent, translucent milky white to light yellow granular or flaky solid.
Use method: 180℃~220℃ keep 4h under stirring state, during this process polyethylene wax should be no obvious color turning black, coking, lumping and other phenomena; after heating 4h, polyethylene wax Gardner color number <7.
