How to choose the defoamer?

1, Excellent stability, strong anti-foaming ability
2, To test whether it affects the recoating performance
It is recommended to use the method of high speed stirring. Set the speed of the machine, the amount of stirring time and viscosity, etc., to compare the same height of the foam elimination time and the length of foam inhibition time.
3, The addition amount of defoamer for water-based coatings is generally 0.1~0.3%.

4, It can also be seen from the speed and mixing time, adhesion and foam height.

5, Most of the water-based paint defoamer can not be added directly into the diluted water-based paint, it is better to add when the viscosity of the paint/resin is high.

1, The main role of active diluent is to dissolve the solid components in uv coatings and adjust the viscosity of the system. uv coatings diluent is not a volatile organic solvent used in general coatings, but a non-volatile solvent that is directly involved in the curing process with the ability to react. The chemical structure of the reactive diluent is generally a class of monomer with a small molecular weight and a polymerizable functional group within the molecule, which becomes part of the paint film after film formation.

2. Oligomers, also known as zwitterions or oligomers, are the basic skeleton in uv coatings, forming a paint film with a three-dimensional structure under the action of ultraviolet photons, and giving the film various properties, such as hardness, flexibility, adhesion, gloss, aging resistance and other properties.

3. Photoinitiator is a key component of uv coatings, its role is to transfer the energy of ultraviolet photons, quickly trigger the cross-linking polymerization of monomers and oligomers, and promote the liquid-solid conversion process of the system. According to the initiation mechanism, photoinitiators can be divided into two types of free radicals and cations.

4. Wax Additives  As the name suggests, they are some auxiliary components added to meet the specific requirements and improve the performance of the paint film, such as leveling agents, defoamers, substrate lubricants, matting agents, dispersants, stabilizers, surface slip agents and so on. These auxiliaries are no different from those routinely used in solvent-based coatings.
