Following are the commonly used asphalt modifiers
1, filler. Carbon black, natural asphalt, fiber, sulfur, etc. To improve stability, durability, reduce rutting, bulging, cracking and flaking.
2, organic surface active compounds. Polyamine, polyvinyl acetate (EVA), styrene-butadiene binder, polyethylene, etc. Improve stiffness and toughness, reduce temperature sensitivity, improve anti-slip properties, etc.
3, thermoplastic polymers. Polyvinyl acetate, polystyrene-butadiene, etc. Improve durability, resistance to cracking and permanent deformation.
4, Liquid thermoplastic polymers. Styrene-based polymers, etc. Improve the elongation performance and low temperature flexibility before and after aging.
5, Solid polymers. Styrene-butadiene rubber emulsion, polychloroprene, etc. Anti-rutting and cracking, improve pavement elasticity and toughness, slow down aging.
6, Adhesives. Amino compounds, metal amino compounds, lime, etc. Strengthen the bonding force and water resistance of stone and asphalt, reduce the damage of water.
7, Anti-aging agent. Asphaltene gum solvents, lime, etc. Increase asphaltene colloid, slow down the oxidation of asphalt, reduce the hardening process of polymer modified asphalt.
8, oxidizing agent. Is a soluble oil-based soap containing manganese soluble in hydrocarbons. Improve the ability to withstand rutting and other deformation. Modified asphalt is a modifier is added to the asphalt using a certain process, so that it becomes fine, uniform and stable dispersion in the asphalt. Modification process is a modifier to play a modified effect of the guarantee, but also to determine whether the modified asphalt can be a key factor in promoting the application.
9, rubber modifiers. Modified asphalt in the common rubber species are natural rubber (NR), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBK), neoprene (CK), polyisoprene rubber (IR), etc.. Rubber modified asphalt performance depends not only on the variety of rubber and blending, and depends on the nature of asphalt, because the performance of rubber asphalt, depending on the presence of rubber in the asphalt state, that is, depending on the compatibility of the two, so a variety of asphalt performance is not the same degree of improvement.
10, thermoplastic elastomer. Currently commonly used thermoplastic elastomer is styrene – butadiene block copolymer (SBS), or styrene – isoprene block copolymer (SIS). As a result of thermoplastic elastomer both resin and rubber properties, so the original asphalt in road performance, greatly improved the low-temperature deformation capacity, high-temperature use of viscosity, temperature sensitivity and durability.
Various types of wax additives can effectively improve the performance of asphalt coatings without significant drawbacks. Tianshi wax additives can mainly significantly improve the high temperature performance of coatings, and can reduce a certain amount of system viscosity, while not affecting the low temperature performance and ductility of coatings.
