Water-based wax emulsions and polyvinyl alcohol, are both commonly used water-based additives in the paper products system, so can they be added to the paper system together and used together?

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA): organic compound, white flake, flocculent or powder solid, odorless. pva has strong adhesion to cellulose, good film formation, high film strength. pva is mainly used in the paper industry as a paper surface sizing agent, pigment binder and pulpers additives, can improve the abrasion resistance, folding resistance, tear strength of paper, improve gloss, smoothness, printing adaptability.

Water-based wax emulsion is a, tasteless, non-corrosive non-ionic emulsion, acid resistant, alkali resistant, hard water resistant, strong water solubility, stable emulsion, any proportion of water dilution without stratification, non-breaking emulsion, non-caking, long shelf life, high solid content, good dispersibility.

After testing proved that the water-based wax emulsion and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) generally do not occur between the chemical reaction, PVA aqueous solution is very stable, it belongs to the water-soluble inert polymers, at room temperature is not associated with the majority of solvents other than boric acid compounds, it does not react with almost all non-polar wax or advanced aliphatic hydrocarbons and other neutral organic substances.

Therefore, aqueous anionic wax emulsions can be mixed with polyvinyl alcohol in paper systems and are very stable.
